Diary Dates for the year ahead!
TERM 1
• Show Tops National Championships – 25th & 26th October 2026
Our Company Musical Theatre, Dance and Acro students will travel to Drogheda to compete at one of the most prestigious performing arts competitions in Irelad. Students will have the opportunity to perform on a major stage, gain invaluable experience, and represent Montfort alongside performers from across Ireland.
• Halloween Dress-Up Week – October 2026
A week of spooky fun, themed classes, fancy dress, games, music and plenty of Halloween magic across all our classes.
• Festive Fa La La – December 2026
Our talented vocal students present a heartwarming celebration of Christmas through a wonderful selection of festive favourites, classic carols and seasonal songs guaranteed to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
• Dance Empire Events – 14th & 15th November 2026
Our Company Dance and Acro students will take to the stage at this national competition, showcasing their hard work, dedication and talent while competing against some of the finest schools and studios in the country.
• Holly Jolly Week – 7th–12th December 2026
A week of festive fun, games, music and stage school sparkle! Students can look forward to Christmas-themed activities, seasonal surprises, and lots of singing, dancing and laughter as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
• The Little Mermaid Pantomime – Firkin Crane Theatre
Our annual Montfort pantomime returns with a magical production of The Little Mermaid. Featuring all Mini Montfort and Primary Dance and Primary Musical Theatre students, this much-loved family production promises colourful costumes, memorable characters, catchy songs and plenty of laughs.
• Beauty and the Beast – Cork Opera House
Many of our Junior and Intermediate students will once again have the opportunity to perform in the Cork Opera House Christmas Pantomime, gaining valuable professional stage experience in one of Ireland’s leading theatres.
• LAMDA Examinations (Spring Session) – 18th–30th January 2027
Students will have the opportunity to undertake internationally recognised LAMDA examinations in Acting, Public Speaking, Verse & Prose, Musical Theatre and Communication, developing confidence, performance skills and presentation techniques.
TERM 2
• Perform – 31st January 2027, RDS Dublin
Our Company Dance, Musical Theatre and Acro students will perform at one of Ireland’s largest performing arts events, sharing the stage with thousands of talented performers from across the country.
• West End Trip – 16th–18th February 2027
Our annual three-day London adventure returns! Students will enjoy dance workshops at the world-famous Pineapple Dance Studios, see two spectacular West End productions, explore London’s famous landmarks and experience the excitement of one of the world’s leading theatre capitals.
• IDTA Dance & Musical Theatre Examinations – 15th–19th February 2027
Students will have the opportunity to gain internationally recognised qualifications through the International Dance Teachers’ Association while developing their technical, artistic and performance skills.
• Feis Maitiu Competitions – February/March 2027
Students from across our Dance, Drama, Singing and Musical Theatre departments will have the opportunity to compete at one of Ireland’s oldest and most respected cultural festivals.
• Ovation – 2nd March 2027, Cork Opera House
A spectacular celebration of talent featuring our Company Dance, Musical Theatre, Acro and Drama students. This exciting new production will showcase outstanding choreography, singing, acting and performance work in one unforgettable evening.
• Destination Dance – 20th & 21st March 2027
Our Legacy Dance and Ascend Acro Company students will compete at this prestigious national dance competition, performing exciting new routines and representing Montfort on a national stage.
• Acrobatic Arts Examinations – 25th–28th March 2027
Students will complete internationally recognised Acrobatic Arts examinations, demonstrating their progress in strength, flexibility, balance, tumbling and acrobatic technique.
• The Witches by Roald Dahl – 1st–3rd April 2027, Firkin Crane Theatre
A brand-new Easter drama production featuring our talented drama students. Packed with imagination, humour and theatrical magic, this exciting adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic story promises to delight audiences of all ages.
• A Grand Night for Singing – 19th–21st April 2027, Cork Arts Theatre
Our vocal students take centre stage in an unforgettable celebration of musical theatre, performing a wonderful collection of songs from Broadway, the West End and beyond.
• Intermediate & Senior Company Drama Production – 22nd–24th April 2027, Cork Arts Theatre
An exciting showcase of dramatic talent featuring an evening of monologues, duologues, choral work and a fully staged drama production performed by our Intermediate and Senior Company Drama students.
• LAMDA Examinations (Summer Session) – May 2027
A further opportunity for students to complete internationally recognised LAMDA qualifications and continue their progression in drama and communication studies.
• Elite South East – 2nd May 2027
Our Company Dance, Musical Theatre and Acro students will participate in one of Ireland’s leading performance events.
• Applause 2027 – 19th–23rd May 2027, Cork Opera House
The highlight of the Montfort calendar. Featuring all Dance and Musical Theatre students, Applause 2027 will celebrate another incredible year of achievement. With six performances planned, thousands of costumes, spectacular production values and hundreds of performers, this promises to be our biggest and most exciting showcase yet.
• London College of Music Singing Examinations – June 2027
Students will complete internationally recognised singing examinations, providing valuable performance experience and recognised qualifications while developing vocal technique and musicianship.
