STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

ROISIN SPILLANE accepted on the Acting for Stage and Screen diploma in CSN. 

MARK SAMPSON accepted to the American Musical Theatre Academy. BA (Hons) degree in Musical theatre. Also Urdang Academy. BA (Hons) in professional dance and musical theatre and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. BA (HONS) Performance - Acting / Diploma In Professional Acting. 

JENNIFER BARRY played the role of Siobhan Walsh in the hit TV series ‘The Young Offenders’. 

RORY COLLINS,  JENNY MURPHY & ALI FITZGERALD selected to perform with the Cork Youth Ballet Company. 

ABBIE PALLISER KEHOE accepted to NYMT in the UK for the summer to perform in a new work ‘Growl’.

Drama student SAMUEL PALLISER KEHOE played a role of in the Irish premiere of  ‘Shawlies’.  

JACK DESMOND accepted on a summer scholarship to the MGA Academy in Edinburgh. 

AVA BARRY recorded a national radfio ad for Fota Wildlife Park.  

CLIONA RIORDAN played the lead role in her school production of ‘Me & My Girl’.

RORY COLLINS  & GRACE COOKE played lead roles in their school production of ‘Grease’.

LUCY SMIDDY, MIRIAM WALL THOMPSON & JENNIE RUDDLE  all took leading roles in their school production of ‘Legally Blonde’.

ABI MURPHY played lead role in her school production of ‘The Little Mermaid’. 

HOLLY ALDERSON played the lead role in her school production of “Alice In Wonderland’. 

Drama student ANDREA LEHANE took a part in the ‘Old Offenders’ video to promote the Cork Santa Cycle.  

Some of our senior dance and musical theatre students performed routines at PERFORM 2019 in the RDS Dublin.

Some of our senior dancers got through thr first 3 rounds of  ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ and received 3 yes’s from the judges! 

Musical theatre student LIV GREGORIO performed as a soloist in the Opera House Christmas Concert and made it to the semi finals of  ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’

ORAN MURPHY got to perform with the Irish National Opera on their nationwide tour of ‘The Magic Flute’.  

JENNY MURPHY awarded a place to represent the school in 2020. 

REBECCA KENT toured the UK with Abby Lee Miller on a promotional tour for the next season of ‘Dance Moms’.

JENNY MURPHY nominated to represent the school at the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 in Manchester. 

Some of our senior dancers were the half time entertainment for the CIT Fun Day.

THE MONTFORT YOUTH CHOIR

The Montfort Youth Choir under Musical Director Michelle Cooke performed their own show ‘Broadway Kidz’ at the Cork Arts Theatre in March. 

They also featured as guest artists in the City Hall as part of Cork International Choral Festival.

The choir performed in ‘Carols by Candlelight’ in St. Patrick’s Church.

EXAMINATIONS, COMPETITIONS & PERFORMANCES

678 students participated in the I.D.T.A Dance and Musical Theatre exams in April with a 100% success rate. In addition over 90% of students achieved distinction. 

We had a 100% success rate across all disciplines; drama, musical theatre, mime and speaking of verse and prose in the February LAMDA session. Students have just completed exams for the May session. 

100% success rate in our singing dept.examination session with the London College of Music last June.

426 drama students participated in ‘Drama Fever’ in the Cork Arts Theatre in April. 

This year was our most successful in Feis Maitiu with winners in the drama, musical theatre and singing competitions. In all we had 87 placed students.

126 singing students were featured in ‘A Grand Night for Singing’ in the Cork Arts Theatre.

Over 1500 students featured in our Christmas panto ‘Jack & the Beanstalk’ in the Firkin Crane theatre. 

Over 200 students featured in our Autumn musical ‘Legally Blonde’ in the Everyman Theatre.
