Drama

We aim to build confidence, communication skills, fluency of speech and the development of the imagination.

Drama classes are based on drama games, improvisation, rhythm exercises, voice work, mime, movement and general stagecraft. Students are encouraged to develop their understanding and enjoyment of acting through practical lessons, script work, improvisation and performance. The emphasis is very much on creativity, fun and enjoyment.

Students are also prepared for Feis Maitiu and LAMDA exams and also have an opportunity to participate in our annual musical, drama production and pantomime. For 2019 - 2020 our drama students have the opportunity to perform in 'Cinderella' at the Firkin Crane (December / January ), 'Pinocchio' at the Firkin Crane (Easter) and 'Drama Fever' - Cork Arts Theatre.

The drama department is headed up by Director and Actor Trevor Ryan FLCM, LLAM, ALAM (act), ALAM (rec).
