PETER PAN PANTO AUDITIONS

 

MONOLOGUES:

 

Peter Pan: This lot know who I am, don’t you boys and girls? That's right I'm Peter Pan. I am the best, bravest, cleverest boy this side of sunset.  (He bows) When I say Peter, You say Pan. Peter. (Audience ‘Pan’) Peter! (Audience ‘Pan’) Cool, thank you. I’m from a place called Neverland. It’s just past the second star, and then straight on till morning. I live there with the lost children. They’re like.....my family. But they have no parents, no one to tuck them in at night and no one to read them a bedtime story. That’s why Tink and I sit at your nursery window and listen to the stories you tell every night Wendy. Wait, why don’t you come to Neverland with us? It’ll be an awfully big adventure I promise. Although I must warn you, it’s not always safe. Captain Hook could stir up trouble at any moment. But don’t worry, I’m not afraid of him. Right, let’s go. Flying is easy really. You just have to think happy thoughts.

Tinkerbell: Greetings all, I hope you're well, 

My name is Fairy Tinkerbell.

I'm like a star up in the sky

Boo and hiss him, he's really rotten.

Captain Hook: It is I, James Hook, Captain of the Jolly Rodger. I come from the very

depths of your darkest nightmares and these are the most diabolical, dastardly scoundrels ever to sail the seven seas. And I am here to defeat my arch enemy Peter Pan. It’s a fine day for mayhem. (laughs) Oh what's that stench?? Check it out my hearties. Any trouble from you lot and I'll come down there myself and pick your boogies with my hook. Children are maggots. Look at them, children who have been read fairytales in order to send them to sleep so mummy and daddy can sit down without their mindless, inexhaustible, repetitive whinnying. “He took my dolly, I want to play Tic Tock, I want to go potty, I want, I want, I want!” Now, I’m sure you lot know where Peter Pan is. Just tell me where I can find him and we’ll say no more about it. You want to help nice ol’ Captain Hook get Peter Pan, don’t you boys and girls?

Nanny: Now I was sure I just heard voices? Is that you Wendy? John? Micheal? Where have they disappeared to? Oh hello boys and girls! How ye getting’ on? I'm Nanny to the dotie Darling family. Oh I really love those kids. It's important to let kids be kids don't you agree girls? I childproofed the house ...but they still get in! Cmere, I hope there’s none of those nasty pirates lurking around. You wouldn't hide them from me would you? Are there any pirates among you...? I know Shandon has its share of dodgy characters. Let me have a look at ye. Hhhhuuppp, no pirates, but ye've aged tragically. It's like being in Dino's chipper ye all look battered! Wait, what’s that up there? Sweet mother, it's the kids again. What did I tell ye about flying? Come down from up there immediately! If ye fall down and break yer legs don’t come running to me!

Smee: Hello boys and girls, ladles and jellyspoons! My name is Smee. Can you say “Ahoy Matey!” Everybody runs away from me boys and girls. You see I work for the evil Captain Hook. No one likes him. He’s about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit! I'm not a nasty pirate boys and girls. I didn’t even want to be one. There was a typo on the form. I thought it said pilot. You see, I’ve always wanted to fly, like Peter Pan! But don’t tell the Captain that or he’ll make me walk the plank. Will you lot be my friends? Great.
