Cork Opera House panto auditions - Aladdin
In order to audition you must be aged between 9 and 11 and have completed at least one year's training in a Montfort Musical Theatre or dance class.
We will first audition the students on Thursday the 19th Sept from 4.30pm - 5.30pm in Penrose Wharf. From this group we will select students to send to the Opera House audition on Saturday the 21st Sept from 2.30pm - 4.00pm. The Opera House will conduct recall auditions on Saturday 28th Sept from 10.30am. If selected rehearsals begin in October.
Rehearsal schedule
Saturday October 5 10 to 1 All children
Saturday 12th 10 to 1 All children
Saturday19th 10 to 1 All children
Saturday 26th 10 to 1 All children
Rehearsals in November will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 4 to 6 and again on Saturdays in the afternoon from 1 to 4pm until they move to the theatre for technical and dress rehearsal week. All students must be free to attend all rehearsals, if you cannot make one or more of the above rehearsals please do not audition. No rehearsals during the mid- term period Monday October 28 to Friday November 1.
When the production opens in December the three teams will perform every fourth show and again it is imperative that each student is fully available over the Christmas period for performances.
The handmaiden auditions will be held from 2 to 5pm on Saturday September 28th at Long Yard Studio. The same notes re; rehearsal days apply and the handmaidens will rehearse every Saturday also from October and will probably be on the alternate days to the children during the November rehearsals. The age profile is sixteen plus. The handmaidens will be performing alternate days.
